In its simplest term, high-density storage refers to the maximum utilization of space in storing and retrieving materials. It is often best achieve by using a totally integrated warehouse package approach in which building and equipment are combined to best meet operational goals. A requirements analysis is the first step in solving any storage puzzle. It is helpful to provide us size, quantity, weights and all meaningful characteristics of the SKU's you will be storing. Product accessibility, mix, stock rotation, throughput, and other operational parameters and limitations are then evaluated. Forklift truck selection must be considered, along with building limitations, building codes, fire protection, seismic zones and personal preferences of the customer also enter into the storage solution equation; and finally the various kinds of storage rack design concepts can then be considered.

It may be necessary to provide one kind of storage facility for a product with many pallets per SKU, and a different system for a variety of products which are represented by only a few pallets each. If a new building is planned, the height of the warehouse may need to be adjusted to get one more storage level, or the building columns repositioned to optimize aisle widths.

What's best for you? Ridg-U-Rak has a wide variety of high-density storage designs and systems available to meet your specific needs. Our Sales engineers will work with you to develop a total solution that's efficient, reliable and designed to provide decades of trouble-free operation.

Each method has its own particular benefits and trade-off's, and each has a different cost factor for initial purchase, installation and maintenance.
